I love inspiring and uplifting quotes but also quotes which make me laugh, make me smile or sometimes make me think. Maya Angelou’s words “If you’re going to live…” really spoke to me today and I hope the words speak to you too!

With JOYQuotes I want to share little nuggets of wisdom in a beautifully creative way with you. Incidentally I had a lot of fun making this quote on Canva and I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out too.

These very powerful words made me think. So stop for a minute and ask yourself what kind of legacy you want to leave on the world? Is it in charity work, in your professional life or as a mom you want to be remembered? Are you still finding what your legacy will be?

I think most of us unknowingly or knowingly grapple with this for most of our lives. Few people know from a young age what their calling is. And your calling, whatever it may be, is no less important than anyone else’s. The point is we all have our own niche to carve out in life. In other words my contribution and your contribution are unique. We must not aim to be someone else because that spot is already taken. Be you, be authentic and be unique. The world has enough followers so be a leader. The world needs more of those.

“If you’re going to live” by Maya Angelou is a powerful call to action for us to find our calling, our purpose and our legacy in this world. Let’s lead by example using our own unique talents to do so.
