Welcome to my blog
I’m so excited you’re here!
A little about me and my journey…
Hello my name is Linda-Ann. Welcome to Serendipity Style and my journey. Inspired by all things creative and beautiful and those things that bring me joy I would like to nurture and support you in your personal journey of discovery.
I’m a single mom to a son and a teenage daughter, 3 Scottish terriers and 3 cats and we live in Pretoria South Africa. I have a demanding career in the legal field and life is busy and usually pretty hectic at our house. As any mom knows there’s usually a million things to juggle and not enough time in the day. Keeping balance is my biggest challenge and it’s a work in progress as it is I’m sure for you too!
It is at times like these I need a little help and a little inspiration. Okay sometimes more than a little inspiration and actually a lot of help.
And about Serendipity Style
I find that unexpected serendipitous discoveries often bring me the most joy and a sense of peace. My hope is that you will join my tribe and that not only will Serendipitystyle.co.za become a source of inspiration for you but also a go to place which brings you peace and joy. May my blog and my journey also become a place of serendipitous discovery for you!
Resources and Tools
First and foremost this blog would not be here without the Refined theme from http://restored316designs.com. Lauren Dierschke and her team create the most beautiful WordPress themes and have made my journey to creating my own website so much easier! if you are thinking of starting a blog I would highly recommend you start here.
These are some of the resources I love to work with…
GoodNotes 6
Recently I purchased a subscription to GoodNotes 6 so that I could move all my planning from paper notes and diaries into a digital space. Simplicity is key for me and keeping all my lists, notes and appointments in one place is vital to being organised and it all together. I’m learning but so far so good.
PEXELS
Pexels offers millions of free high-quality stock photos & videos you can use everywhere.
Pixabay
Over 4.3 million+ high quality stock images, videos and music shared. These are among the most beautiful images and photography I have seen.
Unsplash
I first found Unsplash when I was looking for a new desktop image and I was immediately hooked. Their contributors share stunning photos and images.
Canva
Canva has to be my all time favourite app and the one I use the most. It is intuitive with templates for every possible project you can imagine and then some. Its access to a huge selection of elements, images and photography is mind-boggling to say the least. From school projects to creative adventures you will never run out of ideas on Canva.
Da Font
I’m a sucker for a pretty or impactful font. A good font can turn an ordinary design into a stunning one. Their seemingly endless choice is also constantly being updated. Take care to check out the licensing of all fonts and do that extra bit of research if necessary.
Google Fonts
Google Fonts is another free resource for creatives. All their fonts and images are open source. What I love is that they have a great FAQ section as well as whole section dedicated to knowledge. It’s like a university for fonts.
