Ingredients

g
baking margarine
1
cup
sugar

tbsp
golden syrup
2
cups
dried fruit cake mix
2
beaten eggs
2
cups
flour
2
tsp
baking powder
2
cups
icing sugar
2
tbsp
hot water
1
tsp
vanilla essence
Instructions
Melt margarine, sugar and syrup in the saucepan on the stove
Stir well until the mixture thickens. Rather do this slowly.
Allow to cool.
Add cake mix and stir well.
Add 2 beaten eggs, flour and baking powder and mix well
Pour into a greased pan and bake at 180°C for 20 minutes or until golden.
Make icing from icing sugar, hot water and vanilla essence.
Pour over the pan when it comes out of the oven and allow icing to set before cutting into squares.
Notes
This time when I made the squares I swopped out some 1/2 cup of the cake mix and added in cranberries. Dare I say divine.
