Saucy Chocolate Pudding

Chocolate sponge pudding with a rich chocolate sauce.

Equipment

  • 23cm round baking dish
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Jug
  • Large bowl for mixing
  • Wooden spoon
  • Sieve

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup flour
  • 45 ml cocoa powder
  • 3 ml salt
  • 8 ml baking powder
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 5 ml vanilla essence
  • 30 ml baking margarine, melted
  • ¾ cup milk

Sauce:

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 400 ml boiling water

Instructions
 

  • For the sauce combine all the ingredients together and pour into the 23cm round baking dish.
  • For the sponge sift all dry ingredients and stir in the sugar.
  • Mix all the liquid ingredients together and add to dry ingredients.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Spoon the batter carefully over the chocolate sauce.
  • Bake at 180°C for 40 minutes.

Notes

  1. This pudding is awesome served with some vanilla ice-cream.
